A1 Macedonia made the first 5G call
A1 Macedonia, company constantly working on implementing the latest technologies enabling the highest level of service quality for its customers, is proud to announce the successful completion of the first stage of testing of application of commercial 5G technology in the country.
Tests using commercial terminal devices in geographically limited real environment, outside laboratory setting, have confirmed the expectations and the possibilities that the 5G technology offers in terms of allowing massive bit speeds, very low latencies and possibility to connect huge number of devices to the internet, that is, innovative applications of the fifth generation of wireless technology in 3500 MHz band.
"After the strenuous and intensive preparatory works in the past period, we have managed to develop the internal competencies required and we have ensured high level of technological readiness for commercial introduction of the 5G technology. We are proud to inform the public that we have successfully made the first 5G call in A1 Macedonia's test network and we can confirm that we are ready to continue and to take the next steps required to implement the latest mobile fifth generation mobile technology. Very soon we will demonstrate the technical potential and the innovative changes of this new and revolutionary technology" - said Mr. Božidar Poldrugač, Technical Director at A1 Macedonia.
Fifth generation networks allow completely new applications in the area of wireless communications, modern ways of using mobile networks and multiple user experience enhancement, by ensuring higher speeds and capacities for data transfer (internet), video and voice services, as well as wider coverage and short latency, ensuring reliable data communication in real time, connectivity of industry apps, autonomous vehicles, gaming, various autonomous devices with long battery life and in general, of any type of modern data services that this technology makes possible.
